B.C. Parks
Provincial Parks in British Columbia were first established under the Department of Forests and Lands.
In 1957, with the creation of the Department of Recreation and Conservation, the Parks Branch was also created.
As you'll note below the Parks Branch has been moved around many times since, within several different "ministries".
The present patch has been in use since about 1996, with the only change being the addition of the Ranger tab.  Parks and Protected Areas is presently a Section within the larger Environmental Stewardship Division of the Ministry of Environment.
