National Capital

Created under the authority of the National Capital Act in 1959, the NCC is responsible for designing, building, maintaining and preserving federal assets in the Capital region. The NCC owns more than 470 square kilometres of land in the National Capital Region. The NCC and its predecessors, over the past century, has gathered together parks, monuments, public places, heritage buildings, shorelines and large areas of green space, such as Gatineau Park and the Greenbelt.
